Appleton Wisconsin Mortgage & Real Estate Resources: Are Your Thoughts Your Friend?

Are Your Thoughts Your Friend?

I don't know about you, but for me . . . It is absolutely necessary to spend a few moments each day filling my head with positive thoughts. I live in the boonies, approximately 45 minutes from my office. Although the commute is a pain in the rear, I am so grateful for it, as it provides me the opportunity to step away from the crazy schedule and get my dose of positive so I may carry it on throughout the day.

Here is a little something that I hope will carry you today - Make it an absolutely wonderful day!

"Nurture your mind with great thoughts, for you
will never go any higher than you think."

- Benjamin Disraeli: Was a British statesman and author

"Most people get it wrong. Their thoughts reflect their life. When things are going badly, their thoughts are negative. And it's only when good is heaped upon them that they think positively. As difficult as it may be, find it within yourself to guide your life through your thoughts. The special people who can do just that can weather any storm and create the life of their thoughts - which is the life of their dreams."

MAKE IT GREAT!!!!

Gwenn~

We are what we THINK. Often it is evident from the persons facial expression that their thoughts are not right. Thinking positive has many benefits on ones outlook, health and success.

I do not know why people think in the negative when there is so much to be grateful for.

In one course I teach, I ask people to raise their hands if they have ever been on an airplane.  All hands in the room go up.  Then I ask, of those people with their hands up - while on an airplane, have you ever thought about or fantasized about a crash?  All hands typically remain in the air.  Then I ask - have you ever been in a plane crash?  All hands go down.  Negative thoughts flood our mind and while we can't control the airplane we are on (unless we are the pilot), we can control our thoughts - so make them good and productive.

Here is wishing you sunshine and flowers (well, flowers in the spring) on your drive.

Happy thoughts are always the best ones... they become the self fulfilling prophesy!

Like the little engine that could: "I think I can, I think I can...."

Keep smiling!

You could make a cd for your car with your voice telling you all the positive things and goals you want to hear for 45 minutes.  Real self talk.  Positively.

Great Post....I totally agree.  I would love for you to join a new group I started recently, Quotes of yesterday, today and tomorrow.  I think you would be a great addition to our growing family.

Thank-you for that reminder.  I totally believe we are exactly what we think.  I teach my daughter that as well.  She's only 14, but I've been teaching this her whole life. Hopefully, it's sinking in.

Good morning, Gwenn. Great post, and I couldn't agree with you more. I recently started doing more reading and am learning to clear my mind of the negative thoughts (have heard them called "limiting beliefs," too). It certainly has been a work in progress, as teaching myself to change how I've thought for SO long has been a challenge and even a little frustrating. But I have to say the results are well worth it. I really believe we are what we think. Staying positive, being grateful, and truly believing anything is possible has made life a much more enjoyable journey. Enjoy your ride!

I don't think I could live that far away from my work...

Kudos Gwen, I am now learning how to do just that! RE can certainly be a challenge. My second business is about women helping other women and they are just incredible on teaching just this way of thinking. It makes us all better people and I am finding that it is slowly changing me. Everyday I am working on changing the way I think and look at the obstacles put in front of me.

Very good Gwenn, this is key to health as well. Negative thoughts have been linked to poor health and illness. When you have bad thoughts or are having a bad day, just think of Big Bird or Kermit the Frog. You cannot help but smile!! See......you are smiling right now. Have great day!

Gwenn .. thanks for this nice article.  We want to be with positive people.  My wife Christi is always reminding me to think and speak in a positive way.  Thinking in a positive way about each person and opportunity and focusing on the Lord is what will get us through any storm in life.  Best wishes. I love the quotes.  Negativity attracts more negativity...nobody needs that.  Keep thinking positive and positive things will happen around you.

I find podcasts are a great tool for this. There are several positive affirmation programs that I use to re-program my head!

I want to thank everyone for sharing - It is so nice to read all of your inspiring posts. Can wait for more.......

Karen: Thank goodness for cruise control and heated seats!

Mott: I often like play a little game with myself and smile big and say HI at the frowning person. It is fun to see them break out a smile back!

Steve:What a great exercise - I believe that it is an awareness, or lack of. Not wrong, but simply letting outside forces dictate life.

Robert: I love the little engine; wouldn't it be great to be surrounded by "can do" engines everywhere we go?

Heath:What a great reminder. I have a CD by Lee Milteer where she talks about that very thing. She says to write several affirmations, record them in your own voice and listen to them everyday. Thanks!

Tina: Thanks for the invite. I will be there....

Cindy: Your daughter is one lucky gal!

Peggy:I know exactly how you feel. It is not easy sometimes. You know what they say . . . practice makes perfect.

Michael: The peace of the property makes it worth it. I must admit that at times I want to move back into town and then I ask myself what is better - peace or convenience. I choose peace.

Cami: How wonderful that you have a group of people with like minds surrounding you! Close to 4 years ago, I had an opportunity to retreat for 10 days on a big ranch with 82 other women - OH MY GOSH what an experience. We all saw the good, the bad, and the ugly, however it was one of the best experiences of my life! Lucky You...

Ian: Yes I am smiling! Oscar the Grouch is my favorite . . . Isn't that funny!!!!!

Rene: In our business, sometimes we do not have a choice. That is when me need to be on our toes.

Harrison:What wonderful thoughts. Christi sounds like a Jewel and you are one blessed man.

Simon: I am with you. You get what you give and whatever you focus on will in turn focus right back on you....

Shannon:I have stacks of CD's in my Jeep. I think I would be lost without them. Podcasts is a great idea. A bit more mobile.

Rob: I love it! Better yet, I'm going to look for an ebook so I can make a bigger impact - I dare you to write a blog on the little engine that could!!!! Make it a great weekend......

Gwenn:  What you are saying... is so very true.  Having our thoughts reflect our world... is backwards.  If we can stress positive thoughts enough... we increase our chances of actually becoming that positive picture we imagine.  Thanks for a great post.

Hi Karen: Thank you for the nice comment. Yes it is backwards! It is also laborious at times, but I continue my path forward. I often imagine what an impact this would make if youngsters really understood this simple concept in their formative years. Make it a great day.
